Colour Palette
Various shades of green were used as the primary colour to add depth and cohesion. A red-brown accent colour, similar to the colour of ants, was introduced to create contrast with the green tones. This palette, inspired by rainforests, adds realism to the scene.

The Challenge
Incorporating all the provided content into the booklet without looking busy, while achieving a balance between text and illustrations.
The Solution
To keep the booklet visually clean and avoid overwhelming the vibrant illustrations, I used a single font throughout. The title stands out with a different font and size to provide clear differentiation. Additionally, I limited the colour palette to two hues to prevent visual overload.
The Process
I created the illustrations using Adobe Illustrator, adding texture to symbolize the dirt of an ant’s habitat and to enhance realism and depth. The vibrant, saturated colour scheme was chosen to appeal to children and evoke the hues of a lush forest. Rounded shapes were used to create a friendly, playful feel and to echo the form of ants.
Ants were shown in various sizes to highlight the diversity within ant colonies and to differentiate their various roles and duties.
